The Contribution of Religion on Agripreneurship Development in Adamawa State: A Christian Agrarian Perspective
Abstract
The paper titled, the contribution of religion on agripreneurship development in Adamawa state: a Christian agrarian perspective; the aims of the study is to investigate the relation between religion, as a concept related but distinct from culture, and the incidence of entrepreneurship and also to assess the perceptions of stakeholders regarding the development of agribusiness entrepreneurship in Adamawa state. In the paper, related literature was reviewed on entrepreneurship, Importance of agri-business, entrepreneurship development opportunities in agriculture, religion and agriculture in the bible. A mixed-methods research design was adopted, combining both quantitative and qualitative approaches to gain a comprehensive understanding of the role of religion in agripreneurship and the Findings indicate that religion plays a significant role in shaping work ethics among agripreneurs. The researchers conclude that, a balanced approach that integrates religious values with modern agricultural policies can enhance agripreneurship development in Adamawa State. The researchers recommended among others that financial institution like the Bank of Agriculture, and Bank of Industry to lend greater percentage of their portfolio to youth agripreneurs as their access to loan facility will ensure increase in the size of their business as bigger business size will increase involvement in agripreneurship development.
