Conceptual study on Green Manufacturing and Waste Management in Nigeria’s Industrial Sector

Abstract

Nigeria’s industrial sector faces significant environmental challenges including industrial waste generation and pollution. These problem can be solved using green manufacturing integrating waste management practices. This paper explores the concept and current adoption of green manufacturing in Nigeria. Its importance for sustainable development was also highlighted. Challenges such as limited infrastructures, high cost weakness in regulation were also identified. Opportunities for expanding green manufacturing such as waste energy projects renewable energy integration and training were also outlined. The paper concludes by emphasizing the need for a cultural shift towards sustainability in waste management. It recommends that policymakers, stakeholders, producers should endeavour to promote green manufacturing.
