The study was carried out to determine the extent fridge benefits contribute to employee motivation and organisational goal in the university system. The study used survey research design, and questionnaire served as the instrument of data collection. The data collected in this study were analysed using mean statistics and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC) at 0.05 level of significance through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 21.0). It was discovered that there is significant correlation between fringe benefits and employee retention with a correlation and mean of 0.88 and 3.5; there is significant effect of fringe benefits on employee productivity with a correlation and mean of 0.88 and 3.5; and fringe benefit has significant effect on commitment to organisational goal with a correlation and mean of 0.89 and 3.6. The work concludes that the achievement of employee retention and productivity in the university depends on the fringe benefits provided. Based on the findings and conclusion of this study, it was recommended that organisations should develop medical benefits plan for workers so as to motivate workers and improve productivity. Also, universities should have functional medical centers in the school and give free medical service to staff and their families to encourage employee retention and commitments to organizational goal. In all, there should be accommodation or housing allowances for staff of the university, as that is one of the major strategy for achieving productivity and staff retention.
