Abstract

This study examined training and employee retention in hotels in Owerri, Imo State. Survey research design was employed and questionnaire was used as the instrument of data collection. The data collected were subjected to face validity and test retest reliability method was employed. The data collected were presented in tables and analyzed using simple percentage and hypotheses were tested using chi-square. It was therefore recommended that there should be regular/pragmatic seminars and workshop for organizational staff in hotels. More so, organizations – especially hotels – should always conduct induction/orientation exercise when new employees are being recruited.
